Indoor Farmers’ Markets Keep It Fresh – Winter 2015 in Westchester NY

Down-to-Earth-logoThere’s no need to wait till spring to get fresh, local food in Westchester County. Down to Earth Markets is offering two indoor winter farmers’ markets this year, in Ossining and Mamaroneck.

The markets bring together local farmers and food makers who source as locally as possible. They feature seasonal produce (including root vegetables and greenhouse greens), pasture-raised meats and eggs, fresh fish, breads, baked goods, pickles, cheese, honey and much more. The food makers source their ingredients from area farms while cooking and baking from many different culinary traditions, including those of India, Israel, Lebanon, France, Great Britain, Italy and Germany—just to name some of the makers’ backgrounds. Often these vendors appear at the markets on a rotating basis.

The Mamaroneck Winter Farmers Market is located at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 168 West Boston Post Road. Both markets run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
